Episode 3

In the original fall of man you’ll find an interesting picture. While Eve was deceived by Satan, Adam willingly ate the forbidden fruit. He could have refused and allowed Eve to stand in judgment alone, but he didn’t.

Instead the perfect man willingly chose to take upon himself a fallen state in order to save his wife! Adam’s actions communicated to Eve that she would not be alone. He stepped out of perfection in order to stand with her in imperfection.

In a sense Adam killed himself in order to demonstrate the fact he loved her more than he loved his own life! Adam genuinely loved Eve and would die to prove it!

Consider that in Adam’s actions and his love for Eve you’ll find a beautiful picture of Jesus and His incredible love for you! In a sense you’re Eve! You’ve been deceived. You believed the lie. You’ve eaten the forbidden fruit. As a result of your sin death is now an inescapable part of your destiny, and you have no one to blame but yourself.

And yet, like Adam, Jesus was also moved to action by willingly stepping out of His perfection in order to join you in your fallen condition. Scripture tells us Jesus became sin so that you might be saved from sin. He died for you so that you might be spared ultimate death and afforded eternal life!

While Adam joined Eve so that she was not alone in her judgment, Jesus, in His incredible love and by His amazing grace, choose not to leave you to face the judgment alone. And He did this for one reason… Jesus loves you more than He loved His own life! Friend, grace really does change everything!
