Episode 30

The good news of the Gospel is that because of Jesus’ work on the cross and His resurrection three days later, when you place your faith in Him a divine exchange occurs… You die with Christ and are then resurrected in Him! As Paul would declare in Galatians 2, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me!”

Let me explain what this means by first explaining what it doesn’t… Grace does not mean you follow Jesus’ example or what I like to call the WWJD heresy - that Jesus is an example you should seek to immolate… The problem with this notion is that, in and of yourself, it’s impossible for you to do what Jesus would do!

Instead, the Gospel declares that you’re dead and that Jesus is alive in you in order to work through you! Meaning when there are Godly manifestations coming out of your life you can’t take any of the credit. It’s 100% Jesus and none of you!

Additionally, this also means when there are ungodly manifestations coming out of your life the Gospel is there to remind you that these things are not who you are in Christ and that you need to refocus on walking in His Spirit.

Understand, the law will rob you of the power of grace because it emphasizes a false identity (you’re actually righteous), fills your heart with condemnation (when you’ve already been forgiven), and tells you to trying harder (which is never the solution)…

This is why when you fail you don’t need the law, but a renewed awareness of the presence of Jesus brought forth through and by His amazing grace! Friend, grace really does change everything.
