What is the one concept that makes Christianity different from every other world religion? Simple… Grace! The notion that God’s favor was never designed to be earned but instead always to be given… That His favor is to be enjoyed and never maintained is the most radical concepts ever presented to humanity.

And yet, how tragic it is that many of today’s churches have been substituting the freeing Gospel of God’s Amazing Grace with a distorted Anti-Gospel that only serves to bind and stagnate. For context let me provide you three ways Christians unintentionally distort the radical nature of grace…

First, if you ever hear the words “grace, and do these things” you need to know this isn’t the Gospel. These people argue you’re saved and sanctified by grace and the things you do.

If you hear “grace, but don’t do these things” know this is also an Anti-Gospel. These would say you’re saved by grace, but sanctified by the things you refrain from doing.

Others still will distort the Gospel by saying it’s “grace, so you can do anything.” You’re saved and sanctified by grace, so there’s no restrictions on the things you can do.

While these distortions (Grace, and… Grace, but… Grace, so…) are subtle in their development, know they are nothing more than a perversion of the True-Gospel of “Grace period.” You see the Gospel says you’re saved and sanctified by God’s grace alone. Grace (God’s favor given) is the only power that can transform who you are and what you do. Friend, grace really does change everything!
