Episode 9

Christian… When someone says “grace, so I can do anything” they’re actually claiming that since they’re saved and sanctified by grace there’s now no restrictions on their behaviors. Ironically, while these people rightly understand the freeing nature of grace (it’s true you can do anything you want as God’s favor is provided independent of the individual) they subsequently error by distorting the purpose of grace.

Instead of grace yielding greater holiness and a sanctified life as it’s designed to do, grace is seen as a license for whatever goes. Unmerited favor in place of sin plus Jesus’ complete forgiveness concerning sin is viewed as an unrestricted permit to sin!

Sadly, while it’s true that if you're worried grace can become a license for sin you have a fundamental misunderstanding of grace, it’s equally true that if you see grace as a license to sin you are also distorting God’s grace.

Understand, if the basis of your relationship with Jesus is grace, so I can do whatever I want you’re not only revealing a blatant ignorance of God’s grace, but in actually you’re making a mockery of the death of Jesus.

You see if you really grasp the True Gospel - “Grace period” you realize the power of grace is that it transforms who you are and what you want to do - for when the heart changes as you enter into a relationship with Jesus your core desires naturally change!

You’re no longer trying to please Jesus because You have too. Rather you’re now seeking to please Jesus because You want too. Friend, please reject this “grace, so” distortion by instead believing that God’s grace really does change everything.
